Actilait is the result of the fusion of 4 technical centres
The creation of a single agro-industry technical institute for the dairy sector was encouraged by the Cniel, the Anicap and the Cnaol, in coherence with the January 2006 agricultural guidance law no. 2006-11 inciting structures susceptible to contribute to the creation of reference centres approved by the public authorities to come together. Thus merged in 2008:
- The French technical Institute for Cheese (ITFF),
- The Centre for expertise and control of dairy analyses (Cecalait),
- The technical institute for caprine dairy products (ITPLC),
- The Carmejane Cheese centre.
